Dalai Lama takes pride being called 'son of India'

Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama today expressed his pleasure at being introduced as the ‘son of India’, saying he took pride in this status.

He began his lecture at the Madhya Pradesh Assembly auditorium saying that he had been living in India for the past 51 years and was proud to be called the son of the country.

The Dalai Lama was referred to as a ‘son of Mother India’ when he was introduced to the audience at the lecture.

The Buddhist leader said that the same ‘dal’ and ‘chapati’, on which millions of Indians live, made his life easier.
